The San Francisco Public Library presents FALL 2008 SAT WORKSHOPS
Please register online by clicking here.
Workshops are free and are intended for high school students, with priority registration to juniors. There is a limit of 25 students per class. Additional information is available directly from the library branches.
Parkside Branch (1200 Taraval St.) - SAT INTENSIVE
Wednesdays: September 3, 10, 17, 24 from 6:00 - 8:30 PM
The course begins with an actual, full-length SAT to offer students who have not previously taken the SAT hands-on experience with the test. The workshop will then cover everything you need to know to improve your scores on SAT, including: basic test strategy, time management techniques, process of elimination, the essay, vocabulary help, grammar, critical reading and math. Pick up a pre-test at the branch location before the start of the course (or DOWNLOAD one here).
You must register for all four classes in the series.
Excelsior Branch (4400 Mission St.) - SAT INTENSIVE
Tuesdays: September 9, 16, 23, 30 from 6:00 - 8:30 PM
The course begins with an actual, full-length SAT to offer students who have not previously taken the SAT hands-on experience with the test. The workshop will then cover everything you need to know to improve your scores on SAT, including: basic test strategy, time management techniques, process of elimination, the essay, vocabulary help, grammar, critical reading and math. Pick up a pre-test at the branch location before the start of the course (or DOWNLOAD one here).

Thursday: September 11 from 3:30 - 5:30 PM
A single session workshop that will cover the questions most commonly asked by students: Which tests should I take and when should I take them? How important are SATs, my grades and the essay? etc. Open to college bound students and their parents.
Ocean View Branch (345 Randolph St.) - SAT INTENSIVE
Thursdays: October 2, 9, 16, 23 from 4:30 - 7:00 PM

Mission Branch (300 Bartlett St.) - HOW TO GET INTO COLLEGE
Monday: October 6 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM
A single session workshop that will cover the questions most commonly asked by students: Which tests should I take and when should I take them? How important are SATs, my grades and the essay? etc. Open to college bound students and their parents.
North Beach Branch (2000 Mason Street) - MATH SUBJECT TEST
Tuesdays: October 7, 14 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM
In this Math workshop, we will examine test taking strategies specific to each of the question types that appear on the level II Math exam. The instructor will also answer content related questions spanning from algebra, to trigonometry, geometry and pre-calculus. Students will complete the course having acquired an in-depth understanding of what is covered on the test. Please only consider participating in this workshop if you are in advanced math courses (trigonometry or higher).
Bayview Branch (5075 3rd St.) - SAT INTENSIVE
Wednesdays: October 8, 15, 22, 29 from 5:00 - 7:30 PM
The course begins with an actual, full-length SAT to offer students who have not previously taken the SAT hands-on experience with the test.
